STEAM Workshops

STEAM Workshops and Workshop Spotlights bring Plantlanta programming to schools throughout the year — outside of full PSU takeover days.

These experiences offer flexible, targeted learning opportunities that introduce students to sustainability, creativity, and STEAM careers in smaller, more focused formats.

Workshop Spotlights

What Are Workshop Spotlights?

Workshop Spotlights are single-session or short-series workshops led by Plantlanta instructors and creative collaborators. Topics may include:

  • Urban farming & gardening

  • Mental health, yoga, and mindfulness

  • Music engineering & digital production

  • Sustainable art, mural-making, and design

Each workshop is hands-on, interactive, and designed to spark curiosity and confidence.

Featured Spotlight: STEM Stories

One recent spotlight, STEM Stories, brings teaching artists into school gardens to lead interactive storytelling experiences that blend literacy, science, and imagination. In partnership with the Alliance Theatre, this program connects students with professional performers and educators who help them explore environmental themes through drama, movement, and creative expression. Together, we’re cultivating both a love for the arts and a deeper understanding of sustainability.
