What is This?
Our Composting School Activations help schools turn everyday waste into powerful learning opportunities.
Students learn how composting works, why it matters, and how their actions connect to larger environmental systems — starting in the cafeteria and extending into the classroom and garden.
What Students Learn
Through hands-on sorting activities, students learn:
-
What items can be composted, recycled, or thrown away
-
How food waste impacts the environment
-
How compost supports healthy soil and plant growth

Tracking Real Impact
Schools receive materials to weigh and track composted food daily. This allows students to see tangible results from their efforts and understand the collective impact of small actions.
Educators are also provided with composting handouts and classroom-ready resources to continue learning beyond the activation.
